The cold that had gripped the lake area broke last week. The more seasonal 70s°F that flowed into the hills felt warmer. We're not sure if it was the higher humidity or if we were getting used to the cold morning lows (in the 40s°F!) over the past fortnight. With the warmer weather came instability. In addition to rain, this volatility painted the evening sky with some good sunsets. The first forecasted round of rain was disappointing. The mid-week storm was a tad better. During a break in the second rain event we had a ski show. So far this year, of the four scheduled shows two have been rained out. It was nice that the rains parted for this one. <a href='https://www.crandonwatershows.com/index.html?show=2604' class ='defaultlink2' target='_blank'>The show was pretty good</a>. All the wet weather has made Lucerne's shore irises happy. The shore fertilizing brigade seems to like the rain, too. The two rain events, mostly the second one, has kept the water hazards at the NCC up. New water hazards can be found and enjoyed by shots that don't rest on fairways. The big construction equipment expo continues at the lake's boat landing. The cement and cribbing demos are impressive. The cofferdam was more impressive when the pump was on and the new cement was dry. The parking lot had some equipment on display and no potholes. There is currently no pavement either. It's getting hot again. Huzzah! This year already had some "Turn on the AC" type weather several weeks ago, but tempertures have been well below normal for a few weeks. Until last week. The return of normal and the forecast of above normal has the men all atwitter with talk of swimming, diving, and other lake related activities that will include less shivering. We are also hoping the fifth ski show of the summer, scheduled for July first, is not rained out.<br><br><br>-Nemo's splitting wood until the heat herds him into the lake.
