The One With The Last Ski Show

August 23rd through 29th, 2021

Lake Lucerne
Last week had an eclectic diversity of weather. At times it was hot. Other days were cool. Super sunny days were followed by extreme cloudiness. An angry, lumpy lake would turn calm and still in a few hours.
Lake Lucerne
There was also rain.
Lake Lucerne
The results of the larger rain event, seen here, when combined with an earlier, lesser event, added to almost an inch. That should be enough to hold the lake level at its current mark for about a week.
Lake Lucerne
At mid-week, the lake hosted its last ski show for the year.
Lake Lucerne
The last show was well attended with just enough light and battery to get a drone image of the 4-tier final pyramid.
Lake Lucerne
With the last ski show in the rear view mirror, comes thoughts of Fall. Some maple tree branches seem to be thinking about Fall more than most.
Lake Lucerne
Other plants are still putting on their best Summer face.
Lake Lucerne
The lake temperature is slowly falling. It's 74°F last we checked. No hands were slimed during the temperature check, but it was a close thing.
Lake Lucerne
There was only one squirrel ball match (1-0) last week before tragedy struck.
Lake Lucerne
One of the competitors got smushed. The mashing had nothing to do with squirrel ball but rather a red Kia Optima.
Lake Lucerne
The squirrel ball time out had many fans leaving their seats and engaging in ruckus perching at the local food courts.
Lake Lucerne
The changing weather and squished squirrel seemed to make for some good sunsets.

With the coming pulling of the show dock, last campfires, and county fairs, End-of-Summer events are looming. None are more loomy-er that the coming Knott Lane golf outing and after party. Time to grab 3 friends that know which end of a club to hold and join us next Sunday (September 5th) at he NCC course. Tee times start at 1:03 PM as dozens will play for admiration, glory, and small plastic trophies. The after party starts at the bar at 5:30 PM. Attendance is not dependent on tournament participation.
