The spaces North of Hwy 64 greened up nicely last week. It was warm, occasionally sunny, and the frost has finally left the ground. It's starting to feel like Summer.
In the end, adding 2 feet of buoyant wood to extend the stilts didn't work out so well. The rest of the show dock will be placed when the water is warmer and flatter sometime between now and the first show (Wednesday, June 12th at 6:30 PM with the pre-show starting around 6:10 PM).
Campfires dotted the shoreline during the weekend. The air was warm during much of the day, but when the sun went down, a deep chill romped through the northwoods.
The bugs, specifically the mosquitoes, are plentiful. And hungry. A loosely organized resistance to the pestilence is fighting back with chemicals, harsh language, and sticks, but currently the bugs have the upper hand (and any other uncovered fleshy bits). If you are planning to come up to the lake, bring plenty of bug spray and Benadryl® for after action relief.
