After last week's deluge, this happened. The damp and soaked awoke to puffy white clouds framed in blue, reasonable water temperatures, balmy air, and an insanely high lake level. We truly live in a golden age. Just don't leave that gold on the shore. With the lake level so high, any waves will wash it away.
The six little fuzzballs with legs that infest the 5th and 8th holes don't seem any worse for the wear after the rain.
The big, grumpy one that watches over the small, fuzzy ones has attacked many a golfer. We remain un-nipped, but a few times, it was a close thing.
Rain is a welcome thing when the lake is down and the grass is dry. The contrapositive is extra true. Calm, warmer (72°F last we checked) lake water combined with fantastic weather to produce one of the best weeks this year. There was skiing, swimming, diving and dock repair. With the record lake level and ginormous waves, there will be more dock repair in the coming months. When skiing, be sure to watch for piers, docks, or cabins that have been washed from the shore. They can be damaging to a prop or hull. Or skier.
