Eleven!
July 21st through 27th

Swimming in a 78℉ Lake Lucerne, diving in the same lake, skiing, footing, floating, golfing, tanning and raining. All were done this week and all were scored an eleven.

The sunsets also rated an eleven.

The red, ripe raspberries were given an eleven. Green ones...well, not so much.

A storm late Friday night/Saturday morning dumped just over eleven tenths of an inch into the lake.

The storm hit the NCC golf course hard. The 150 yard tree on one needs help.

A brief note to the guy who moved the new hole on nine, 25 feet from the old hole. I hate you.

Parties both on and off Knott Lane were attended. There were brats!
The drone attended the off Knott Lane party.

Until last year, we did not know that Lake Lucerne boasted its own lagoon.
It's a great site for a party.

The high-ish boat traffic in the area caused nary a ripple in the lagoon. In addition to the great food and fantastic view, there were fireworks
The ski shows on Monday and Wednesday were well attended.

The high speed wrestling match was a great addition to the show's barefoot line. We think the guy in the orange is the referee.
The sun was dialed up to eleven all week. Shade was welcome.

It's that time of year when people with August commitments pull their boat lifts from the waters of Lake Lucerne. The saddness of the event was tempered by a great lifting tool and water that was easily 30℉ warmer than it will be when our lifts need extraction.

Topical interview that may or may not have happened but is nonetheless reprinted here...

Nemo: The days this week all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, Monday : eleven, Tuesday : eleven, Wednesday: eleven and...

Pioneer Express: Oh, I see. And most great days go up to ten?

     Nemo: Exactly.

Pioneer Express: Does that mean they're better? Is it any better?

Nemo: Well, it's one better, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most great Summer days, you know, will be rating a ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your Summer day. Where can you go from there? Where?

     Pioneer Express: I don't know.

Nemo: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Pioneer Express: Put it up to eleven.

     Nemo: Eleven. Exactly. One better.

Pioneer Express: Why don't you just make ten better and make ten be the top number and make that a little better?

Nemo: [pause] These days go to eleven.

-Nemo has heard that dozens of people spontaneously combust each year. It's just not really widely reported.              Previous   Next
