Summer's Fear of Fifth Gear

June 16th through 22nd, 2015

Lake Lucerne
Thus far, Summer has a heat problem. Before Summer 2015 was driven off the lot, we were assured that it had an overdrive that would push the air into the 80s°F and the lake into swimable without all that screaming. This Summer has cruised through the lower and mid 70s°F, but does not seem able to shift into high and really bring the heat.
Lake Lucerne
Summer has made up with rain what it has lacked in heat. Better than an inch of the wet stuff blessed the area last week.
Lake Lucerne
We are just a fraction away from 10 inches below the nail. Huzzah!
Lake Lucerne
By week's end, the lake temperature was just a fraction of a degree below 70°F. That's better, but still coolish.

The second ski show of the year had many fine acts, the threat of rain, and actual rain.
Lake Lucerne
The rain ended just before the final act was restarted. There's more at the CWShows site including the Stone Cold Crash of the Century of the Week.

The knottlane drone was sent up more than twice this week.
Lake Lucerne
We did a pontoonborne launch just south of the big island.
Lake Lucerne
We pushed it up pretty high into G-class airspace and suffered an LOS (Loss Of Signal) event. After some excitement, communication was reestablished and the craft was landed without incident.

Lake Metonga seems smaller from here.

The bar was opened and many Alien Secretions were consumed. Four at a time. We only have four pair of the special eye wear.
Lake Lucerne
Sunday's annual Father's Day father/daughter barefoot run went off without injury.
Lake Lucerne
The lake was active last week. Fishermen prowled the shoreline, skiers flew back and forth 200 feet from the edge, pontoon boats cruised everywhere, there was tanning, rain, cocktails, cigars, and babies. And that was just Saturday and Sunday. Next year, we start P90X in March.
