Lake Lucerne Ice-In Report III

December 10th through 14th, 2012

Lake Lucerne
There is still white stuff from snowstorm aLf on the ground and anything near the ground. It gives the lake area a Christmassy feeling that was lacking before the snow.
Lake Lucerne
The new town hall seems to be going up fast. It should be ready soon for town business, town meetings and the occasional wedding reception for the well connected.
Lake Lucerne
The lake started the week in a clear, cold and liquid state with a bit of ice on the edges.
Lake Lucerne
Strong winds from the south broke the side ice up. The bergs paraded by for hours.
Lake Lucerne
By midweek, the North end had more ice cover than open water and some interesting ice formations.

The internet, and by extension the webcam, went down on Monday. It was restored on Friday when it was learned that it was the victim of a vicious BUNNY ATTACK.
Lake Lucerne
A car either took the turn at the North end of Knott Lane too fast or swerved to avoid a bunny high on polyester and aluminum. Parts of its front end marked the spot where it hit the ditch.
Lake Lucerne
Feathers were spread around the North End of the lake. It was speculated that a bunny, not satisfied with munching innocent cables, ate a bird.
Lake Lucerne
Christmas lights are up in Crandon. All are good, but Tom Perry's are the best.
Lake Lucerne
You should really go see 'em.
Lake Lucerne
We left after internet service was restored. I'm somewhat shocked that the lake is not frozen over. A small strip is still open in front of Water's Edge as of now (morning, December 20th). It should be closed up by the end of the day or tomorrow at the latest, but what do I know. I thought it would have been iced over by last Monday. Nobody skied all week.

-Nemo was told that bunny tastes like chicken.
