Flying Children and Cribs Weekend

April 5th through 7th, 1996

Lake Lucerne
We arrived at the lake on Friday for what we thought was going to be an uneventful Saturday laundry day. After returning to the lake with loads of clean clothes, we found a newly constructed fun sized ramp and jump just off Knott Lane.
Lake Lucerne
It was sort of like the movie ET but with a sled instead of a bike and no skittle snarfing alien. As a bonus, local dogs were also entertained.

Later in the day, Mrs Nemo held a class in the art of bonsai snowmen building.

The new cribs are here! The new cribs are here! More than a few new fish homes dot the northwestern edge of the lake. Thanks LLAA.

Some cribs are still in kit form or someone lost the instructions or something.
Lake Lucerne
In case it was a case of lost instructions, Mrs Nemo made a bonsai crib out of a fresh snowmobile track to serve as a model in case the builders return.

It's early April and the snow is still deep and the lake ice is still thick. On a positive note, we have clean clothes, and when the ice eventually goes out, we'll have better fishing. If the ice ever goes out. It looks like the lake level will continue to be at a dangerously high level. It'll take a one or two year drought to bring it back down to a normal level.
