The major chunk of last week would be best described as sunny and hot. It cooled off a bit on the weekend, but the memory of mid-week stayed scorched in our minds. The sun and hot weren't just weather conditions, but also an effective treatment for hypothermic swimmers. The trembling and un-pink were pulled from the lake, laid out in the sun (usually on a lawn chair, but a large, flat rock would suffice) until their skin began to de-blue and the shivering stopped.
The days were filled with skiers, wake surfers, and the dreaded tubers harshing Lucerne's flat, but mornings were made for footing. It was a pity that no footers were found.
We are not sure what's up at Flannery's Crandon lair, but it involves an armada of shiny, well logo-ed trucks with huge trailers.
It may have started on March 1st, but it accelerated last week. Pushed along by the heat came the inevitable first aid and the further and faster collecting of Summer Fun points. Limping away from the show dock? That's 10 points! A ski run is only 3 points, but were you concussed during a particularly artful faceplant? Don't remember? That's 10 points! Unsure whether that twitching and shivering is hypothermia or one too many energy drinks? Either way, that's 10 points! The real trick is to maximize the point total before the Summer ends while avoiding casts or caskets. It's best to find the balance, not so much between active and inactive, but rather between active and healing. Points are awarded for both.
-Nemo's healing and up to 19,754 points.
