A Little Cooler

May 9th through 15th, 2016

Lake Lucerne
The lake area was cooler last week. In addition to the trillium, dandelions and mayflies there was a trace of snow. The cold and trace of snow turned out to be just what the entomologist ordered to rid the area of the swarms of flying pests. Huzzah!
Lake Lucerne
It was hot here in the extreme southwestern corner of the lake. The kind of hot that drives you to the hills. It's cooler in the hills, and even cooler at the top of this rock.
Lake Lucerne
The path up to the rock is not completely awful. It's clearly marked, there's a waterfall halfway up, switchbacks, and a few stairs of uneven size.
Lake Lucerne
And there was some snow.
Lake Lucerne
There might have been enough snow for a ski run, but we forgot our skis plus never follow that Joe guy anyway. And there were no lifts.
Lake Lucerne
The rock grew more lizardy near the top.
Lake Lucerne
Temperatures at the top of the hill were 30 degrees cooler than the valley and the view was more thrust faulty.
Lake Lucerne
If you make it to the top, be warned that you are being watched.
Lake Lucerne
The moon ended last week about half full. Bright enough to see during the early evening but not bright enough at night by which to water ski.
Lake Lucerne
Las Vegas is known for its extremes in food, heat, and things to do. We guess that goes for its chain saws, too.
Lake Lucerne
We're always looking for ideas and things to improve the bar night experience on the north end of the lake. It's a pity Planet's bar is not the right shape to add this thingy.
Lake Lucerne
This will be the last update using remote telemetry to get pictures of the lake. With Lake Lucerne's weather forecast to be getting better, much better, it's time to leave the southwestern corner of the lake and be back at the bar. Word is that the trillium are fully up, some piers and lifts are in, and the may flies are awful. Were awful. The cold of last weekend should thin them out nicely.

-Nemo, just a few buffets and a road trip away.
