Halloween Weekend

October 27th through November 2nd, 2015

Lake Lucerne
Lake Lucerne grew colder last week and a wee bit deeper. There was rain spread out over the week in tenth of an inch amounts
Lake Lucerne
There was also snow. Some survives in the shadows. More is expected in the next few weeks.
Lake Lucerne
It was decided to climb a bigger rock here on the extreme southwestern corner of the lake. We hiked up the backside of the hill. The front was a little steeper than we like.
Lake Lucerne
It was cooler at the top.
Lake Lucerne
It was also a little chipmunk-y. We were told that this particular sub-species of chipmunk is found only on this mountain top.
Lake Lucerne
It was also a little fossil-y. If you looked , there were a lot of fish and shells in the rock.
Lake Lucerne
On Saturday, it was time to costume up and hit the strip.
Lake Lucerne
For the most part, jawas are accepted here as long as they don't go into the casinos.
Lake Lucerne
Eventually, the jawas hid in the rocks in front of Harrah's and watched the Mos Esiley Cantina refugees pass by.
Lake Lucerne
Some old friends found us and we exchanged pleasantries.
Lake Lucerne
Maybe "friends" was too strong a word. One of them claimed we owed him money, or death star plans, or something. It was time for the jawas to flee.
Lake Lucerne
The pumpkins, carved in early October, mostly made it to Halloween weekend.
Lake Lucerne
The rain last week was thin, but still welcome. Every little bit helps. The snow was less welcome, but not completely unexpected for this time of year. It looks like it's going to get a little warmer and then cooler this week. There should also be rain, so yay!
