It rained a lot last week. It was cooler, too. It no longer felt like Summer and yet it did not feel like Fall. Clearly, the minor, melancholy season of Fummer is upon us.
When the sun was out, construction guys were scurrying about preparing to bury electrical lines. Some of their machines were pretty cool. To be honest, they were also out when the sun was not.
Seeing this image brings many thoughts to mind. For me, the foremost is, "Why was I taking this picture instead of skiing?". It is a mystery. It's forecast to get cooler before it gets warmer. If the prediction holds, the lake temperature will drop below the 70°F mark. Such lake temperatures can induce a bout of Tourette's in swimmers that's usually only seen on the golf course. Speaking of which, the Knott Lane Open is less than two weeks away (Sunday, September 6th, email for tee times). I'll get a link on the front page to a PDF with all the particulars.
