June 2nd through June 8th, 2015

It's best to think of Summer as a marathon. You stay less sore and broken that way. Historically, the lake level peaks at the end of June so that's more of a sprint to a higher lake for the next few weeks. Either way, we have miles to go and are loving every inch. As the dash to the end of June continues, rain events of an inch or more are filling the lake. Inflows are rushing and rocks on the shore are slipping under. The water, both old and new, is getting closer to 70°F. The fish are getting more active and swimming (5 points) is becoming more pleasant. After almost 8 months of remission, the lake has tubers again. The good news is that they have not yet metastasizied to flat water days. Loon fight! Late last August, the LLAA had a vote at the annual meeting to remove the member's signs that have been around for over half a century. I voted to keep them. I was in the minority. The fish are biting but not at the "jumping into the boat" rate we like. Give it another few warm days. While swimming is better, it still can be best described as shocking. We could use another 5°F or 10°F. Applying 4 gallons of paint, pouring 21 yards of concrete, wind, and rain grounded the drone this week. Better weather and the first ski show of the year will force it back into the blue. All that rain and wind may have prevented pictures of a higher order, but it did give a bit of free time to fix the code for the new and last 20 knottlane webcam recorder pages. We'll try to get the LLAA camera recording pages fixed up before the ski show on Wednesday evening.

-Nemo would rather ski than pour concrete.
