The weather last week was far more Summerific than Springola. The air reached into the 70's°F, there was golf without jackets, boats were on the lake, and there were bugs. The lake water and leaves were the only items lagging out of phase. The former being cold and the latter being absent.
Then there was the rain. We didn't get any.
Not a lot of green in them thar hills. That should change in the next week or so as will the lawn mowing hiatus that's been going on for 7 months now. After the trees and mowers awake from their long Winter hibernation, skiers, footers and kayakers should not be far behind. It'll still be awhile before any sane swimmers will be seen splashing about. The lake is starting May 15 inches below the nail. It has not been up that high since mid 2007! We're toying with the idea of a ice in/ice out-like contest for the lake level, but really hoping that the lake will go above the nail before that page is written and posted. We'll see.
