As did last week, this week started off dry. Streams that had earlier in the year flowed into the lake were dry. The lake level was falling.

On Wednesday, just after 4:30 PM, the sun was drowned out by a ginormous thunderstorm.

After the storm, streams into the lake had water in them but could not be said to be flowing.

It was late and there was the occasional lightning strike in the background but the water show went on after the storm mostly passed.

Due to the lateness of the season and the show start, some acts were canceled. It was still pretty dark during the final pyramid.

The rain total after the storm was almost an inch (some of which was lost to evaporation before this image was captured).

There was no rain during Footstock 2013. Held just outside Crandon, the 25th running of the tournament had 3 tow boats and plenty of wind induced waves.

The "Corvette Boat" was our favorite.

If you wanted to see pairs of people gliding at 38 to 44 mph in bare feet it was the place to be.

If you enjoy watching people bounce, spin and faceplant into a lake at 38 to 44 mph it was also a pretty good place to be.

Summer has clearly got its second wind. Highs near 90°F, lots of sun and the passing thunder-mega-storm are what we expect during late June and July. Having that weather tacked on the end of August is an unexpected pleasure. Much more heat and rain are predicted for next week. Huzzah!<br><br><br>-Nemo fell apart on the 8th hole
