July 25th through August 3rd, 2008

Saturday, July 26th was much less stormy than Friday, July 25th. On the way up on Friday, it was hard to see the road due to the driving rain from Laona to the Fire -Up Smoke Shop. "The Great Radish Harvest of '08" has been renamed to "The All Right Radish Harvest of '08" The lake was flat all week. Much skiing took place. On Sunday, July 27th, the ski club had an old timers show. While watching the start of the show, one question came to mind, "who makes 'Tohatsu' outboards?" I was told later that "Tohatsu" is Japanese for "Mercury Marine". The show went well with many acts that I would have trouble duplicating on firm ground let alone a ski.
Lost links to 2008 ski shows including this one: June, Early July , and Late July My favorite was the upside-down pyramid. Later in the week, after the hot July sun drove some of the sanity from us, new hair styles were monkeyed with. Picking golf balls from 6 to 8 feet of water was very easy with the lake being crystal clear. Mrs Nemo and I SCUBA dived on Sunday. We only went to 17 feet while exploring some cribs. There are more fish on the cribs than I can ever remember. Mostly Bass, blugill, and black crappies. Big ones too. After a week of extreme upnorthness (golfing, skiing, diving, epic bar nights, up at dawn-down just before dawn, swimming, shooting (archery, gun, wrist-rocket), and not having to be anywhere on time (with the exception of church and tee-times), it is hoped that sore muscles and creaky bones will get better to do it all again next weekend.

-Nemo
