The first thing we noticed was a gathering of several rafts on the north end. They had escaped their anchor with the aid of a strong wind from the south at the end of the week. Some were retrieved Saturday. A large eagle hunted the north end all weekend. New cable is being laid on the north end. They seem to be past the bar and moving down Potawatomi Trail. I'll post the price/bandwidth as soon as I get it. The new high-speed pipe was celebrated with the ever popular/aflame Bailey's Comet The trillium season is near the end. Other flowers of somewhat lesser size are prevalent. A little over a half of an inch of rain brought the lake back to 20 inches below the nail. We could have used some of the 9 inches that fell in the southeastern part of the state. The droplets on the plants did not burn off under the cloudy skies. The inflow from the surrounding area could push the lake up further, but don't count on it. The rain helped the explosion of ferns on the shores and in the woods. Plenty of new growth on the pines too. The fish are back! The ducks are back! And the skiers are back! Boat traffic on the lake is lower than I ever remember it. The webcam is performing well. I plan to hook up some speakers next week and look forward to hearing comments live on the dock. I'll post it on the front page when the speakers are up. The fish are looking active, the water is sorta swimable (at least 10 minutes before hypotherma sets in), and the air is warmer. I don't want to call it to early, but summer has arrived! Co-ed pre-season rafto starts next week with the regular season starting in 2 weeks. If you can't be there live (historically the crowds have always been lite for pre-season (and the regular season (and the championship))) it can be enjoyed via the Internet this year.<br><br><br>-Nemo
