Last Weekend in May

May 30th through June 1st, 2008

The weekend really started for us the previous weekend when we jetted to Vegas where we stayed at the Imperial Palace, enjoyed the Dancing Fountians at Bellagio, partied with some friends, and were abused by an old Klingon. The weather on the shores of Lucerne was quite the contrast with Las Vegas. It was cooler, just a bit wetter, and much more green & grassy in northern Wisconsin. The water level is down (slightly), cold, and very clear. This image was taken in only about 2 feet of water, but you get the picture. Dandelions. We have many on the north end of the Lake. When the wind picks up, the air is full of the white cottony seeds. The trillium are just past peak. They'll be gone in a week or two. The small blue flowers also cover large areas of the north end. The sunset on Saturday was colorful. On Sunday morning, after much grass cutting, we were joined on a walk by a pack of puppies. Another inflow caused erosion hole has formed on Potawatomi trail. No cars or puppies fell into it while we were present. The webcam continues to chug along. I'm adding an external speaker mid-June for a week to add more voices to the north end of the lake. No shouting please. The new cable for TV and Internet is being laid on the north end. Lower prices and more bandwidth, I love it. A skier and a fisherman were observed over the weekend. I can't recall when the boat traffic has been so low. We'll be back next weekend to increase that traffic and lower the lake level by catching copious amounts of fish.

-Nemo
