Pre-Bottle Rocket War Weekend

January 11th & 12th, 2008

Lake Lucerne
It was snowing on Friday night. By morning, there was about 3 inches of fluffy powder covering the inch or so of snow that had fallen earlier in the week.
Lake Lucerne
After clearing a small patch of lake, a hole was made to check the ice thickness.
Lake Lucerne
There is close to 14 inches of very solid ice on the lake.

The condition of knott lane is getting worse.

The webcam is functioning well. I'll have it update every 10 seconds for a "mostly live" view of the bottle rocket war on that Saturday night.
Lake Lucerne
Skiing at Brule was the best ever. Great snow and very few people for a Saturday.
Lake Lucerne
We left for home around 4:30 PM on Saturday. The road conditions on the way deteriorated the closer we got to Green Bay. By the time we made it to Green Bay, the roads were covered, visibility was 200 feet, and the Packer game had 9 minutes to go. The cold coming to the north soon has been described as brutal. Best bring an extra lighter if you are going to participate in the 17th annual bottle rocket war.
