Pier & Boats in Weekend

Next »

May 7th & 8th, 2004

On Friday evening the wind started to die and the clouds rolled in. There was no chance of any comet spotting. The lake continues to rise. It's now 13 inches above the nail with more rain coming. The storms that started Friday late, ended around daybreak on Saturday. Pier modification kicked off Saturday with the "Cutting of the Steel Nubs". 2 cutting disks later we gained 2 nubs that I hope to sell on eBay. After the nubbing, piers were put in. The water is 50°F, very refreshing. This little guy was of no help at all, unless you needed to rid yourself of unwanted nuts. With the piers, boats, and raft in, our mission was accomplished. With more rain on the way and the lake temperature "nippy" we chose to leave a day early. On our way out we came across 2 deer near West Shore Drive and W. We'll be back next weekend to try to get a good look at Q4 (comet NEAT).

-Nemo
