Golf Weekend

September 11th through 13th, 2003

Lake Lucerne
We left work to travel to the northwoods Thursday afternoon and stopped along the way to eat just outside Lakewood at the Maiden Lake Supper Club. I've heard good things about this place and was not disappointed. More later this week in Restaurant Reviews but for now I must say the steak was flawless..

The sun, dazzling and warm, became increasingly obscured by clouds as Friday progressed.

Then the rain came. Even the frogs lept for cover during the heavier parts of the storm. We were on the 13th at Nicolet and playing fast. The storm forced us to run for the car after we finished the 15th and Mrs Nemo sanely dismissed my arguments about the chance of actually being hit by lightning while golfing.

I am proud to report the addition of the rain gauge to the weather station. Precipitation data is downloaded hourly to the weather pages. I've become more interested in hydrological data since the lake level began dropping in mid June.

The temperatures were still warm as was the water

The signs of fall were starting to show here.

And there.

The water was calmer on Saturday, but the clouds told of rain to come. We had to leave to take some friends money at a Sheepshead game. Be back in 2 weeks.
