Labor Day Weekend

August 28th through 31st

Lake Lucerne
Thursday evening had storms clobbering many parts of northern Wisconsin but not Lake Lucerne. All we had were clouds and some drizzle.
Lake Lucerne
On Friday Crandon was in full cellibration mode during the pre-Brush Run festivities. Main street was closed for a parade that was note worthy, loud.
Lake Lucerne
None of the buggy drivers seemed to be wearing fezzes or showing any other Shriner like qualities.
Lake Lucerne
Our favorite? The Knottlane truck of course! (Look at the front driver side fender very closely).
Lake Lucerne
See it now? Art work by Mrs Nemo, color by Sharpie.
Lake Lucerne
Back at the lake, the calm, warm water on the north shore seemed to be begging to be skied on.
Lake Lucerne
Saturday turned warmer with fewer clouds. The still water that covered the entire lake was disturbed only by ski boats and loons.
Lake Lucerne
We did dives 3 and 6 on Saturday. During dive 3 we pulled an old tire from 30 feet of water. My dive partner rolled it about 100 yards to shallower water. It seemed well balanced.
Lake Lucerne
The sure signs of fall were on the lake Sunday. The morning air was "crisp" and many were pulling rafts and lifts from the water.
Lake Lucerne
Sunday was also the day the Knott Lane golf tournament was held at the Nicolet Country Club. Mrs Nemo captured the prize for the longest drive. I didn't lose any balls.
Lake Lucerne
The post golf event included food that was served buffet style.
Lake Lucerne
There was cake!
Lake Lucerne
Most attendees used spoons, forks and knives but mighty Thor here chose hammers as his eating utensil. I regret not being there during the highly entertaining soup course.
Lake Lucerne
Alice was there and I was told I had to take a picture of her by powers that I can't defy.
Lake Lucerne
Summer is quickly drawing to a close but, despite the evidence on some branches, a few good weeks may remain. We'll be back in 2 weeks.
