December 6th & 7th, 2002

What a difference a week makes! The lake went from no ice to ice covered in 24 hours. There is now a dusting of snow on top as it continues to build. Meg had the honor of drilling the first hole to measure the ice. There was 4 inches of very clear ice. There is about 1 inch of snow on the ground. Enough to build forts for the 12th Annual Lake Lucerne Bottle Rocket War but not enough for snowmobiles. The lake level is up a little. This ruler is 13 inches at the nail so that makes the lake 8 inches above the nail. That's up almost a foot and a half from last year at this time. Dean was not up again! It's been such a long while since his last visit we think he has forgotten the way. Jeff did not come up as well (Actual image of Jeff during the last play of the first half of the Packers Bears game). The first lake snowman was built. It was nearly crushed! Meg almost mistook the short, big headed, stiff armed creation for ex-Packer wide receiver Antonio Freeman. Not thinking, she reacted as any Packer fan would, and started to crush it. At the last moment she realized her error and did not flatten it.

-Nemo
