Feeding the Fuzzy

August 9th through 13th, 2000

It's been a very warm, extended weekend. Lake Lucerne is up to 78°F and the air has been close to 90 F. Huzzah! A few dives corroborated the reports of local fisherman. The fish are plenty and active. The ducks are also plenty and active. There are rumors that some folks are feeding them. To the duck feeders: knock it off. More ducks contribute to the Swimmer's Itch. We don't like the Swimmer's Itch. Feed the chippies instead. The small fuzzies don't eat much and they don't bestow the Swimmer's Itch to the crystal clear waters of Lake Lucerne. I tried to barefoot off the boom and I'm so bruised I can hardly stand it. We'll be sticking to one ski for the foreseeable future. As mentioned before, the weather has been nothing short of fantastic. Summer can show signs of weakening around mid-August, but not this year. The heat is forecast to continue through Labor Day. If you missed this weekend, be sure to visit the northwoods during one or more of those that remain.

-Nemo, blotchy purple from shin to chin.
