New Raft and Paddle Boat!

May 31st through June 1st, 1997

Lake Lucerne
We made it up with a new raft and a new paddle boat in tow. Tasks this short visit included getting the new stuff into the water and trying again to start the pontoon boat. The former should be easy, the latter less so.

It turns out that the issue with starting the pontoon boat that vexed us last time up had to do with the fuel line...it needs to be connected to the engine to ensure a proper start. After connecting the line it fired right up.

Our previous paddle boat lasted almost 10 years. We are hoping to get more out of this one.

Picking out a raft was tricky. Ultimately, we wanted one as similar as possible to the "Raft of Many Injuries" at Timber Shores that we had all grown up with and suffered under. We believe this one should produce just as many bruises and lacerations as the old legendary float.

With the items placed into the water it was time to flee back to work. This turned out to be not as hard as you'd think unless you dipped a toe into the water. It's pretty cold. We'll be back to fish and maybe freeze a few toes next week.

-Nemo still has at least one scar from the old raft.
