New Boat!

July 17th through July 31st, 1976

Lake Lucerne
"New Boat!", last year dad tried to pull us up using a 10 hp motor on a fishing boat. That disaster lead to the purchase of a 16 foot tri-hull complete with a 60 hp Chrysler that can push the blue beast up to 28 mph (with a good tail wind). Huzzah!

Before all that skiing, it was time to eat. Cabin 3 at Timber Shores has a table big enough for the task along with a kitchen and a morning squirrel.

Before this day's skiing, there was horse riding at the stables just to the west of the lake on W. There were plenty of horses and no waiting.

There was an army of kids. When we descend on the lake, the skiing queue would be a long one.
Lake Lucerne
The queue was indeed long. Six gallons of gas would get us through the line twice, about 2 hours. Most days required 12 gallons. By the end of the month, all who wanted to slap the pine onto their feet learned how to ski and some could even drop one. We really need a telephoto lens though.
