Highs in the 40s°F and lows touching the teens (°F). That's all you have to know about last week's weather. Late fall is upon us. The leaves are crunchy and ice-in is less of a high concept and more of an impending reality. No one skied.

At the start of last week, the lake temperature was just under 50°F. It was lower by the weekend.

Under last week's leafless canopy the last of the piers were being pulled and the final mowings being done.

During clear nights, the colder water and mowed lawns were well lit.

In addition to replacing a few bad coin mechs, a few giant new washing machines were added including a 6 load monster suitable for the largest blanket or a small SUV.

Summer is still lingering in parts of the extreme southwestern corner of Lucerne. It was decided to chase it, catch it, and enjoy it. This event dovetailed with the annual Knottlane Board Meeting, Stockholders Conference, and Pool Party so it was a sort of three birds one stone thing. Just over halfway there in the lumpier parts of the route, some ski place operators have made snow. Their skiers were frolicy.

Some hills chose not to make snow. Their skiers were not so frolicy.

The scale of some of the larger lumps continue to amaze. Roads were in no-snow good shape, a boast that could not be made closer to the lake, late last weekend.

Before a little more than trace amounts of snow were reported, Knott Lane was in good shape.

We caught it! Summer is still alive and well in the extreme southwestern corner of the lake with highs in the 80s°F and lows that are survivable without a hat. It should be noted that closer to Lucerne, it's a little colder. Thanks to all the people that found and entered this year's Ice-In contest.
