The last full week in July could be summed up as the "Week of Many Events". There were ski shows (three!), fairs, a 5K-ish run, parties, and to fuel it all many deep fried foods. That, and the usual summer events have left many pausing to catch their breath more than once during the last seven days.

While it did storm a little at the start, the weather all week was mostly outstanding.

Temperatures all week were seasonally mild with the exception of a weekend heat wave. Whether hot or mild, under the lake was a great place to relax a little between events.

Finding old cribs on the north end of Lucerne turned regular surface diving into yet another exciting event.

There were three ski shows last week.

The crowds were pretty good.

The acts were impressive.

There are only four ski shows left on Lucerne. If you have yet to attend one, now is the time.

With the early rain last week, we took advantage of a low fire danger to get rid of some old OSB. We have learned that making a little box around a small fire can trap the heat and result in a bigger fire.

On Saturday morning, the LLAA held its second annual 5K-ish walk/run from The Bar to the LLAA Club House just south of Water's Edge.

They had over 90 participants and raised a few thousand dollars for the Crandon Area Rescue Squad. Huzzah!

After the run, we took our tired legs into Crandon for Kentuck Day.

There was a car show there, too.

Last weekend also held the Oneida County fair.

At the fair, there were rides.

And Bubbles!

And lots of deep fried foods of dubious nature.

Some more dubious than others. We got there late and couldn't find the angioplasty booth, so we chose to go further into Rhinelander and play a few games of tennis on 5K-ish complaining legs instead of larding up arteries.

It was a very busy week. The deer have also been particularly active on West Shore Drive. Thankfully, there were no car/deer events to report.

On the weekend, a wind from the south added a few waves to the north end of Lucerne. Some humidity was also added later on Sunday. It looks like next week is gonna start off stormy like last week, but have fewer ski shows (two) and less 5k-ish runs.<br><br><br>-Nemo vows more diving, less jogging next week.
