The cold last week started extreme, ended extreme, and was extreme in the middle. If last week was anything, it was extremely cold.
The cold air did not drop much snow on the lake, but on occasion a strong gale would pick up snow and send it like a river of cold in the direction of the blow.
In case you missed the subtle clues and inferences in the other slides, it was cold last week. It was the kind of elemental cold that keeps the sane indoors and confirms to snowbirds that they made the right choice. It was also competely expected. It's January after all. And the cold is not all shivery and evil. The liquid air makes splitting wood easier, just drop a log from a few feet and it shatters. It gives polar rated clothing a reason to exist. It keeps the mosquitos down. That being said, we can't wait until the start of Thaw, the third sub-season of Winter. In other unremarkable news, no maple trees were tapped/shattered last week.
