The One With Frosty Golf

October 25th through 31st

Lake Lucerne
Last week started off warm-ish. Morning lows induced more frost to local lawns but the 2 PM highs got close to 50°F. When coupled with practically no wind and a sunny sky, it felt warmer (if you stayed out of the shade).

The NCC course was in surprisingly good shape. It was a little disappointing that by mid-week the flags were pulled and the velvet ropes put up. The course will open again next April.
Lake Lucerne
Earlier in the week, there were a few waves on Lucerne and no skiers.

Later in the week, the lake flattened out. There were still no skiers.

Most plants have been bitten, but a few taken inside over night are still bringing cheer to the North end.

During much of last week, Eagles could be spotted almost every time you looked up.

Many of last week's Sunsets were pretty good.

It was Halloween weekend. One local fuzzy chose to dress as roadkill on Knott Lane. In an impressive display of acting and costumery, it remained in character all weekend.

The temperatures last week trended more to normal. The rain did not. We've been in a dry spell all month and it looks like the lake is down an inch or three for October. We'll get a measurement later to record and confirm that. Looking forward, it seems the cold will soon be upon us, but the dry will continue. The dry is important this time of year. Pushing back the first snow will not bring a tear to many eyes around these parts.

-Nemo didn't swim either.
