November 6th through 12th, 2017

Last week started out cold, but warm enough for the snow from the previous few days to melt. Lawns should have been mowed, but we were still 2000 miles from Water's Edge. The wrapping up of this year's Knottlane Board meeting and Pool Party took longer than expected. It took almost an entire day to just fold up the chairs at the conference center. The trees here in Southwestern Crandon are not showing any signs of losing any leaves. It will be nice to get back to the lake and see the wildlife. The animals that populate the forests and game rooms here are easier to find, but more animatronicy In summary, board meeting was judged a resounding success. Good news about new coding techniques, amazing new drinks being introduced to the bar, and the future of drinkbots were reported by well bronzed participants. Late last week, single digit temperatures dashed any hope of late season golf. If the forecast is to be believed, there could be an early ice-in this year. There's no ice building on the shore yet, but it's just a matter of days, or even hours, before the lake edges start to get hard and crunchy. Drone images of the ice's progress will be posted soon.

-Nemo, excited about the holidays, depressed by the Packers.
