It was hot last week. The wet, sticky 80s°F cooked the lake and surrounding forest. There were also sunburns.

At night, when all was still, you could hear the lawns growing. Staying properly hydrated before, during, and after a long grass cut was important.

The cold hearted orb that rules the night got fuller as the week progressed. It culminated in the full "Strawberry Moon" on Friday.
Lake Lucerne
Fishermen have been spotted trolling the shores and sky for a tasty supper. The fish are cooperating by biting/being bit.

The dragon flies are finally here! They are known to eat mosquitoes. There has been an enormous feast of mosquitoes feasting on us all week. Go dragon flies!

Late last week, the wind picked up and the lake grew angry. There was no talk of skiing, some talk of surfing.

The lake temperature is getting better. There'll be swimming without screaming soon.

At times, the evening had a distinctive Australian flavor.
Lake Lucerne
The hot crescendoed with a storm of note on Sunday. The ginormous amount of rain, over 3 inches, should push the lake up to record levels for this century. All that new water will host the first ski show of the year this Wednesday. If it's not rained out. The forecast currently calls for rain on Wednesday.
