No Snow Yet

October 24th through 30th, 2016

Lake Lucerne
It was a little cooler last week. This was expected. The lake was calm at times and angry at other times. There was clear sky and there was a bit of rain. This was also expected. The lake finished the month of October a good two inches above the nail. This was a pleasant surprise.

There were a few trees of color at the start of the week.

By the weekend, almost all the leaves North of Hwy 64 made a crunching sound when stepped on.

Last week, our view of the lake was somewhat obstructed by a few trees and hills.

The open water here in the extreme southwestern part of the lake was mostly flat. Despite 80°F temperatures, nobody skied.

The available boat might have been the reason for no water skiers. It was cluttered and woefully under powered. It did have a nice beam crane, though.

Last week, we were called away for an emergency knottlane board meeting and pool party. We'd like to thank LexAnn Hitchcock for sending us images from last week to make this update possible. Thanks LexAnn! This year's Lake Lucerne ice-in contest is coming online soon. I'm thinking by the end of the week, but you never know. Intense cocktail research can take its toll.

-Nemo reports no snow yet here either.
