Lake Lucerne
At the seasonal beach party on the shores of beautiful Lake Lucerne, Summer has taken over the grill and started serving up well done days filled with flat water and garnished with plenty of green. If you're coming up here, bring sunscreen.

For those keeping score, Mrs Nemo and I got one ball in apiece. Lesser golfers managed to stick two on the raft, but have yet to "bucket" a ball.
Lake Lucerne
It was noted that the two in the bucket and two on the raft did not occur on the first four shots.
Lake Lucerne
Green isn't the only Summer garnish color. A second wave of blooming autotrophs are spilling out of the woods and onto the shore.

The fishing has been good. There are reports of big walleye being caught on the South end of the lake and the North end has been good for fish you might want to catch and eat in a tall tree.

Finding a peaceful tree to munch on a finny treat was not to be due to a couple of smaller, jerky types. The fisherman and feast was last seen flying to trees on the Southeast shore.

Last Wednesday, Crandon Water Shows members gathered at the Water's Edge Bar and Restaurant to put on the first show of the year.

Just before showtime, the sky opened up. Boats were pulled from the lake a short, wet time later. The first ski show of the year was canceled.

Later in the week, one of the knottlane drones was put up around the South end of the lake.

With all the rain, we wanted to be sure that Lake Metonga and Lake Lucerne did not rise and merge to form one giant body of water (Lake Mecerne? Lutonga?). They didn't.
Lake Lucerne
Lake Wabikon and Riley are still there, too.
Lake Lucerne
Big doings continue on Knott Lane. They're now digging and last word was that they encountered another "big damn rock".

Last Saturday was the hottest day of the week. Highs pushed into the upper 80's°F and the sun was relentless. A small crew of us decided to collect a cord or four of wood for next year's maple syrup season. Upon reflection, maybe we should have waited for a more cool day.

There were more events last week that were not imaged in this summary page. The LLAA held a meeting that featured "gas lines around the lake" questions, cleaning invasive species off boats, and other stuff. Final piers, boats, lifts, and tree pollen were added to the water. Saturday's bar night was capped off watching old Hamm's beer commercials on the bar's big screen via youtube while drinking Hamm's beer. The beer wasn't great but at least there was symmetry. On Sunday, the water on the North end of the lake hit 77℉. Footing, skiing, swimming, and wading should involve much less screaming.
