The Return of Spring

April 11th through 17th
Early last week, Unspring retained control of the lake area. It was cold, mostly cloudy, and the ice was building. It also snowed. By Tuesday morning, there was about 8 inches on the ground. Some of it melted by sunset, only to be replaced by a fresh few inches on Wednesday morning. Inflows continued to pump water under the lake ice for the entire week. By week's end, the weather got much warmer and a local snowman did the first face-plant of the year. The warm weather had some putting in the first piers of the year. Levels? We don't need no stinking levels. And speaking of levels, the water level of Lake Lucerne is still going up! One point seven five inches below the nail is gonna make the people on the South end of the lake, formerly looking at a mud flat instead of shoreline, very happy. Huzzah! The weekend's weather was warm and the tree tapping season was over. You should have been here, there was much bucket washing. The lake ice will not make next weekend. The warm weather, wind, and sun are going to return the lake to a liquid, albeit cold liquid, state. Piers will soon dot the shoreline and boats soon after that. Early season water skiing is always hypothetically fun. We recommend a dry suit. Or better yet just watching and laughing.

-Nemo's walking back to the garage to get a level.
