This Winter was mild. Then not. Then mild again. The sinusoidal nature of this seasonal ride is fine but, to be safe, check that restraints (coats, hats, boots, mittens) are secure and in place. Also keep your head, hands, arms, legs, and feet inside the ride at all times. Do not stand up or exit while it is in motion. Watch your step when entering or exiting the Northwoods and do not engage in rowdiness or excessive play. Well...maybe a little rowdiness or excessive play.
Alas, poor Porky! I knew it well, a critter of infinite appetite, of most excellent pointyness (Hamlet, Act 5, scene 1, Northwoods edition), but we digress. The 30+°F temperatures have made cross country skiing all fally downy and spawned the damnable slush layer under the snow on the lake. Winter seems to have hit another inflection point and is forecast to be rather un-mild soon. We'll get an ice thickness check next week, but we can provide a fishing report: There are no fish in Lake Lucerne.
-Nemo will be here all week, recommends the Porky mystery stew.
