December?
December 1st through 7th

The calendar said December, but the weather last week whispered October. Summer had a bonus period this year, now Fall did too.

Last week did start off all December-y. It looked like the 6+ inches of snow predicted would give December a white carpet reception. When it was over, grass was still poking up through the less than an inch of white.

In the spots where Knott Lane got sun, the snow quickly melted.

Not so much in the shady spots. Below freezing nights gave the Lane a delightful ice glaze. No running!

On those cold nights, a small amount of ice formed behind the rock bar on the North end of the Lake.

The small amout of ice on the shore means that ice-in is near. All Lake Lucerne needs is 5 or 6 days of teen (F) tempertures and we'll have a winner of this year's ice-in contest. Currently, it's ice free.

And it's ski-able! Not having a ski boat in caused us to die a little inside.

Squirrel!
Another aircraft was added to the knottlane fleet. That makes 2.1 if you're counting.

Late in the week, we took the new one out for its maiden flight.

There's still water in the creek! It's normally dry this time of year. This bodes well for the lake level next year! Huzzah!

It took some getting used to, but the new flight control software proved to be much better than the old stuff.

Devils Lake and Wabikon have had their ice-in. Next time we fly, I'll have the craft stand on its toes to maybe see Lake Riley.

Lake Metonga is almost as far from ice-in as Lake Lucerne.

We almost golfed last weekend. If not for light snow cover on most of the fairways and night's crashing onto the course unsettlingly early, we would have. Aside from some possible very late season golf, the last vestiges of Summer 2015 have offically passed. This year's Summer Schedule ended on Saturday, December 5th. There was some bowling, bar rail bowling, and a two mile run squeezed into last week, but all the points were captured. The paper work is currently being looked over and audited by Deloitte & Touche, but the unofficial point total of 55,000 is a new record. We'd like to extend our warmest thanks to everyone who helped make this Summer the best ever! The movie rights to this Summer are currently being negotiated. If you have any suggestions on casting actors for your role, please let us know in the comments section. So far we have Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson for Eddy and Paul David Hewson (Bono) for Gregg.

The new drone worked great on its first flight. We especially like the new batteries. The old drone's batteries are showing signs of age. After flying awhile in the cooler air they seem to have trouble supplying enough current to the motors. It can be quite alarming when it starts descending on its own while taking pictures over the lake.
