Post Peak Peaky
October 13th through 19th

Some of the trees are near peak color, some are leaf-less. Such is the nature of Post Peak Color. Not much red this year, but the yellows and golds are spectacular.

A young eagle hunted the North end of the lake all week.

Fall has hit the golf course. The white tee markers are migrating from the backwaters of the tee boxes to less Tiger Woods placements (the old Tiger Woods, not the new one.)
It rained last week. Because we pulled the rain gauges for the season a few days before, we can only estimate the amount. Maybe a half an inch? The pumpkins, carved just a week ago, are looking old.

Later in the week, we took a wrong turn off Hwy Q and ended up in a more trafficked, lumpy area. The traffic eventually thinned, but the lumpiness remained.

Post peak color signals many things. Time to mow for the last time, winterize the cabin, get in the last round of golf, and attend the annual Knottlane Technology Conference, board meeting, and pool party that's being held off shore in the extreme southwestern corner of Lake Lucerne. We are currently having some issues taking pictures of the lake and surrounding area. A few of the taller displays are hard to shoot around. And then there's the whole curvature of the Earth thing. If you're up this week and take a few pictures, send one or two our way for next week's summary.
