Summer Triple (!!!) Bonus Period
September 8th through 14th

Last week had just enough Solstice Seasoning to be mistaken by the calendar-confused for a cool Summer week rather then a warm Fall one..

It was much like the local Maples. Mostly Summer, with just a stickle of Fall.

The lake steamed some mornings. Swimmers were most upset by this surrender of lake heat.

Water activities are still, well...not comfortable, but tolerable. And ice free!

The lake was flat and warm enough for a hardy few to get in those final runs.

The was also lawn care. This was made more challenging by power guys running heavy equipment over the edges and digging gorges of eternal peril. The wise lawn mower goes slow around these man-made geologies. That, plus they should know their favorite color and the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow, just in case.

Peak color should be about 2 weeks away but you wouldn't know it by the pallor of the trees. Green is still the predominate color up here. Unless you look up. Then it's blue. We had some gray days early last week that brought the lake level to only a foot below the nail. When we get the inevitable Autumnal assault on the Summer warm, the resulting thunderstorms could push the depth of Lake Lucerne up to levels not seen for a decade!
