No Recovery Yet
February 24th through March 2nd

Around this time of year, Spring's offense comes to life. Now we are not talking touchdown or even field goal, but a first down or two to push the warmer team out of the shadows of their own end zone. This week turned out to be a three and out punt.

Snow devils advanced up and down the lake, slashed through Spring's offensive line and repeatedly sacked quarterbacks, tackled running backs for a loss, and taunted the vernal cheerleaders.

The crowds at Ski Brule are normally light during a Winter blow-out. This week was no exception.

Covering Lake Lucerne, under all that Winter , is a 17.5 inch slab of ice.

Sub-Zero. That pretty much sums up most days and evey night last week. Some days were brilliant blue, calm, and sunny. Some were gray, blustery, and snowy. Every day was cold. Sub-zero has become a curse word north of Hwy 64. On the plus side, those of us with a few pre-purchased lift tickets are not feeling much pressure to use them soon. There's plenty of Winter left in which to ride the lifts at Brule. Hazzah! Or rather Boo! While the air temperature is not on Spring's side the calendar is. Expect to see temperatures rise by 25℉ or more in the next few weeks. Some will call it balmy. Others will more correctly refer to it as normal.
