Snow. You could almost set your clock by it. The calender flipped to Winter and BAMM! Six inches followed a few days later by eight inches. The six incher was the wet and heavy kind. The eight incher was of moderate water content. The lake level could be up come Spring!

Are you famliar with the giant pile of pallets just to the northeast of the intersection of Hwy 8 and County W? The stack has been growing for several years now. Late last week (Friday) they became one of the biggest bonfires ever!

The snows end and the bonfire were celebrated on Saturday with a very civil bar night. You should have come over. That goes double for the people on the South end of the lake who lost power for almost 18 hours.

There's still snow on Lake Lucerne Drive. Our guess is that there will be snow and ice on Lake Lucerne Drive for the next several weeks. It would seem that January, the second Horseman of the Snowpocalypse, has extended an icy tentacle into December. This is common thus not unexpected. The drawbacks of frozen roads and limbs are offset, a bit, by the distinct lack of bugs. It's been days since anyone has reported a mosquito bite. It would appear that January's second gift, extreme cold, is almost upon us. This should make the 24th Annual Lake Lucerne Bottle Rocket War even more cool. Heh.
