Halloween 2014
October 28th through November 3rd

Snow. We all knew this curse would probably befall Autumn and as curses go this wasn't too bad. Plus it's good for the lake level, so yay.

Local roads are still in good shape during the day. Please be careful at night though, wet roads can become black ice covered when the sun (and temperature) go down.

Most of the old blue cars around the lake were snow free by sunset.

Back on the extreme southwestern area of the lake on Halloween night, Nemo dressed as a jawa and the fake jawa hung around the fake rocks in front of Harrah's.

Mrs. Nemo also jawa-ed and even managed to match her eye color. We'd like to thank the Mirage Casino for their donation to our costumes (the items on her bandolier are Mirage pen caps hot glued to a 1 dollar belt).

By the end of the night, we had people buy us some beers, and met some new old friends that confirmed that Han fired first.

It turns out that people with covered faces, or more specifically jawas, are not welcome at casinos on the strip. We were booted from the Mirage and the Linq even after giving security sob stories about how stormtroopers attacked our sandcrawler. The fake rocks outside suited us just fine though. Back at Lake Lucerne it looks a little cool. If the forecast is to be believed it's gonna get down right cold soon. We were hoping to get in one more mowing of the bar's lawn before snow time, but that is looking more and more unlikely. We could be in for yet another early ice-in. We'll try to get you a lake temperature by next week. Thanks aLf for sending us the images of the lake taken last week and used in this summary.
