Summer on Steroids
August 5th through 11th

It would seem that Summer got tired of being all weak and scrawny and has begun to juice. This new, bulked up, no necked Summer has been hitting climatological home runs all week. The days have suddenly become hot, the water temperature is 79 F, and the sky is blue. As long as Summer can stay healthy, Yay!

Over 200 pictures and movies, some light tree trimming, and no crashes. Huzzah!

We were invited to photograph the Crandon Water Show's practice on Monday. I didn't realize dress was just short of black tie. Note to self: Rent a tux next time.

The show on Wednesday was less formal, more Canada-y.

The lake is, for the most part, clear as crystal and warm enough to entice swimmers to stay all day.

As you look at the raft on the webcam image, know that there are bass under those pontoons.

More than a few larger rock bass have found a home in local cribs.

The O'Keefe Triathlon was held last Saturday, August 9th at 8:30-ish in the morning. One guy won and no one drowned.

What a great week. Perfect Summer weather allowed many event options including golf, swimming, skiing, diving, footing, or just laying back and spreading your toes in the sun. The lack of rain did cost the lake about an inch of water level, but we are expecting rain early this week. Maybe we can make it up with a good thunderstorm. The Knott Lane golf tournament is just 3 weeks away. Time to dust off the clubs and think about getting your foursome together for Sunday, August 31st at the Nicolet Country Club.
