Summer?
July 23th through 29th
Cold.  Not cooler, with its connotation of pleasant Summer evenings after the sun sets but cold.  It was not warm this week. It did rain however.  Not the several inch tropical storm type showers, but rather the on again-off again sprinkles that add up to under an inch and no golf.
The creek by the bar is still dry as are many of the other streams that had been flowing into the lake just a few weeks ago.
About 0.6 inches if you want to get picky.
The lake has been steaming in the morning cold for the past few days.  The lake temperature has plummeted over 10℉.  Swimming is becoming more hypothermic.
We prematurely celebrated, among other things, the arrival of Fall, with a well attended bar night on Friday.  To fight off the cold, a record 9 Bailey's comets were set a flame all at once.
Come on Summer, you're not even trying.  Highs grasping out to the 50's and lows making us wonder if it'll snow?  This is not the Summer of just weeks ago that scorched golfers and rose lake temperatures so fast many wanted to add butter, potatos and onions (salt to taste) to Lake Lucerne for a giant fish boil.  The forecast temperatures for next week are suppose to climb back to late September levels.  Better, but still lacking.  If Summer continues to operate at a temperature and rain deficit, we will be forced to declare Summer bankrupt and sell off its assets to Fall and Spring.  Heck, Winter may even be interested in some of these days.
