Water Shows Week
June 11th through 17th
The Crandon Water Shows had their first exhibit on the cool waters of Lake Lucerne at Water's Edge on Wednesday.
The lake is still cold but the air was warm-ish at times.  Weak tea Summer is better than no Summer at all.  The lake was very ski-able most every day.
The winner of this week's "Best Skiing Injury" is Jay S (on the right).  During the 2 ski jump out act, his left ski jumped up and bit him on the elbow.  It was estimated that the gash might require about 5 stiches.  It should be noted that niether skier/footer fell during the run.
While many skied, some were content just laying out on the lake.
This week, the art of gliding on top of the lake was far from confined to the ski show.  Many were sliding over the calmness with and without skis.
We only got about two tenths of an inch of rain last week.  The creek on the north end is getting dry and the lake level is trending down.  Much rain is predicted next week.  Let's hope we get it and reverse this trend.
Mosquitos.  The lake area has them.  Lots of them.  They bite.  I hate 'em.
It was a good ski show.  Almost all the acts stayed up and some of the few that fell, bounced.  Very entertaining!  The lake temperature is pushing the upper 60's (℉), making swimming an event possible for more than just the completely insane.  The fish are starting to bite.  We ate a few of the more active ones last week.  Next week should be warmer and wetter.  If true, the fish should be more active and have more lake to swim around in.  Let's hope so.
