We made it up after dark on Friday, which is to say late Friday afternoon/early evening these days. On Saturday it was time to clean up all the brush that littered the ground from the Great Wind Storm of 2010.

Fire to the rescue! The amount of fallen branches/trees combined with the pyro-centric nature of the cleaning crew made for a really big fire.

The green nature of the branches also made for a really smokey fire at times

The second last pier was slowly and carefully removed from the lake on Saturday afternoon. No one fell in/chose to go swimming.

Later in the afternoon the last pier was pried from the frozen clutches of the lake.

It was freed and shored with only slight injuries. The late pulling created some of the most interesting ice formations seen in a while.

The counter at the Log Cabin restaurant is gone. It turned out to be a casualty of a new floor. There are reports of a swarm of loons stopping by to fish the lake on their way south. Two to five have been spotted on the north end of the lake and more have been seen in front of Water's Edge. The lake ice that grew on Saturday was swept away by angry seas on Sunday. As soon as this latest wind event passes, say this Friday, watch for a rapid ice-in/loon away.<br><br><br>-Nemo gives 'em headbutts, Deedle dee dee dee.
