Last Golf of the Year Weekend

Next »

October 21st through 23rd, 2010

Made it to the northwoods late on Thursday. The moon was dancing light on the surface of the lake and I was too lazy to try to get a picture of it. Did penance for my sloth by biking around the lake late Friday morning. Check out the almost noon shadow. Golf was good as long as the ball did not fall into the large piles of leaves that dotted the course. Rafto! season is over. The local media was not notified and Rafto! rackets were returned to storage. We measured the lake level. It's low. A small pipe was pounded into the shore to be able to measure the level next time without a string and level (the nail pier is far from the surface of the lake.) Three feet eleven inches below the nail. When the top of the pipe is covered with 8 inches of water the lake will be at the nail. Let's hope for a wet winter/spring and what's left of fall. It clouded up on Saturday and we got good rain later in the day and on Sunday. More is predicted. Yaay! A lone loon was picking off fish from a school of fingerlings on the north end of the lake all weekend. It will be jointed soon by other hungry loons as they gather together and head south. We'll be back for the opening of deer hunting.

-Nemo needed only 60 more yards and would have been on the green in one on one.
