Almost Missed Weekend
October 15th & 16th
On Friday, hours before we were to leave for the lake, a key server died at our place of work.  I was tasked with ordering flowers, giving a brief eulogy (consisting mostly of curses)  and making burial arrangments.  Also getting a replacement up before Monday morning.  After a very long Saturday, the new server was happy and we made it to the northwoods.
Sunday morning was bright and cool.  The lake level is falling.  No real rain in the last 2 weeks has dried up the inflows and given back any gains the lake made during the wet September.  Boo.
Piles of leaves in the rough were just another good reason to stay on the fairways.  As it turned out, staying out of the rough also takes strokes off your game. Who'da thunk it.
The only trees with any green left are of the conifer variety.  There are plenty of deciduous leaves on the ground.

Cooler and lower.  Cooler is good in that after the lake freezes, it can't drop much.  Lower is just not good.  We need rain.  Some is predicted in a few days.  Pray we get it.
