First October Weekend
October 1st through 3rd
Friday's rain and wind gave way to clouds and sun by Saturday morning.  More rain/wind/hail/woo girls would come later in the day while we were golfing.
Even though peak has passed, there is still plenty of color to be seen in them trees.
The creek in the northeast corner of the lake continues to flow.  This is a very good sign.  The creek bed was dry for most of the summer. Pumpkin carving on Saturday night was well attended.  Several pumpkins were carved, no one was injuried, the saki was unopened.
The pumpkins turned out well.
On Sunday morning it became clear that Lake Lucerne experienced the first hard freeze of the year.  The sun burned off the thick frost by mid morning.

The lake is cold.  Only one boat was seen fishing and no one skied.  Most boats and lifts have been pulled from the lake.  Many squirrels are running around the woods like lunatics and there seems to be a constant echo of gunfire from hunters sighting in their rifles.  The Nicolet golf course was in great shape when it stopped raining/hailing.

--Nemo doesn't think the heavy stuff is coming down for a while yet.
