On Saturday morning (August 7th), the call went out to swim, run and bike around the lake. 19 people heard the call.
The bar is located just past the half way point in the run. Water, beer and cigars were offered to the athletes as they passed. Only one runner objected to the selection of treats. We'll be sure to include whiskey next year to keep all of 'em happy.
Fall, the word drives fear into the hearts of deers, pumpkins, Congressman Kagens and leaves alike. On Sunday August 15th, the hi temperatures fell by 15°F and the dew points by 20°F. In the coming days, a south wind and a blue sky may whisper Summer, but the morning cool and the evening's rush to darkness firmly states Fall. While we walked down part of the north end of the lake passing out fliers for this year's Knottlane open, some were seen pulling boats from the water and were certainly thinking about doing the same with the now empty lifts. It's much nicer struggling with 500+ pounds of lift in 80 degree water than in a 50 degree lake (unless you hire that pontoon-crane guy). The fish observed while diving the north end this week were really active and included many bass, a few legal walleye and one northern. Catching one of those 20+ inch walleye would be the crown jewel in a great summer.
-Nemo has never hired that pontoon-crane guy.
